Finding the right shoe for your child isn’t always easy. Here are some pointers to consider when shopping for a new pair of shoes. Children’s feet change with age therefore shoe and sock sizes need to be checked every few months. Always have someone measure your child’s feet and keep an eye on signs of wearing in the shoe. When shoes don’t fit properly they can restrict movement and growth. Buy for the larger foot if your child measures different sizes. Watch the heels of shoes-uneven heel wear might reflect a foot problem. Make sure you bring your child with you to the store, have them try on shoes and give their opinion about the feel. Come into our Healthy Steps store to have your child sized and fitted for the appropriate shoes. We welcome your questions at Foot and Ankle Associates of North Texas and look forward to seeing you soon!
