Have you noticed that your feet are getting flatter as you age? Do you have arch pain or medial ankle pain? These could be symptoms of a condition called Tibial Tendonitis. What is Tibial Tendonitis? The job of your posterior tibial muscle is to support your arch. If this muscle is overused or injured, you may have pain in your arches, resulting in Tibial Tendonitis. Proper footwear can help this condition by stabilizing the muscle. We first check to make sure that there are no fractures and that this is really a soft tissue injury. Then, we take a look at your biomechanics and foot structure to determine the best course of action. Rest, ice and elevation perhaps coupled with a brace, orthotics and physical therapy will have you back to normal in no time. If you are having any arch pain, come on in so we can take a look. Your feet will be glad you did!
